The Kingdoms of the West
To the west of the Regna Oriens lie the Regna et Navis Domini (Kingdoms of the Ship Lords), and beyond them are the the Regna Occidens (Kingdoms of the West).
These represent in large measure the core of the ancient empire of Calador that once threatened to swallow the world as it once was known, and also the realm of the heir that finally rose to claim their legacy, the great emperor Clovis.
They are comprised of the great city state of Calador, now the seat of the great lord of the Church of the Light, whose sway includes all the lands within the Domain of the Light: all the lands of ancient Vitulia running down the length of the Vitulian peninsula that runs between the Sea of Éor and the Sea of Belfa, all of the Middle Kingdoms, the Kingdoms of the Ship Lords, and all of the Eastern Kingdoms save only Enladdis and the Valkurs of Haageslund, dwelling in the House of the North Wind.
The Vitulian peninsula is divided between the kingdoms of Ostiany, Napoliny, Vascony, Terrazony and Galiany – in which great Calador itself sits.
To the west of the Vitulian peninsula are the myriad rough and rocky islands of Dægoria that dot the southern waters of the Sea of Éor and in many places make of the currents a braid too intricate for many to cross with impunity to the broken fingers of the Dægorian mainland.
To the north of the lands of Vitulia are the lands of Tolaar and Valvaud, held safely in the embrace of their high mountains, and the remnant of the legacy of Calador and the great emperor Clovis, the Holy Caladoran Empire: Glitzerand, Funkeland along the frigid north coast, Branmark, Venmir, Holfast and Fernast, The Fel Coast and a hundred others, all ruled by noble client lords bending the knee to the emperor.
Though they span the largest territory, the vast steppes of the barbarians, the Kossaks of Kossia, are only heavily settled in the east, adjacent the lands of the Empire, and along its coastlands and the borders along Erebia, in the Occidens Ultimus (the Uttermost West).
