Realms of Myth
Brilliant House is the “official” home of the Lady Bizarre on the magickal Isle of May. One might think of it as the seat of her “honor”, but this is no dark and dank, looming threat of a castle. Rather, it is a hall so tall, wide and fair it will be a millennium before the races of Man figure out to build its like, and its walls bring to mind a cathedral, wide expanses of glass hung between slender piers of pale stone, all the colors of a kaleidoscope cunningly wrought in scenes that depicted the history of the Lady who dwells within … enacting the scenes to her delight should she stop a moment to gaze upon them to reminisce – or any visitor, as well, for that matter. These scenes are said to dance to her desires and moods for her entertainment, for her solace, for the sake of nostalgia or the instruction of strangers who might be brave enough to pay her a visit.
When the Lady is in residence, the great front doors of burnished oak, all bound in gleaming tracery of gold and silver, are said to stand wide open, welcoming all comers, and banks upon banks of fine candles and massive fire pits and fireplaces bloom with light until the walls of glass virtually blaze with Light and Life they cannot wholly contain, when viewed from outside. In a nod to her ancient origins as a creature of water, Brilliant House stands upon high white cliffs above a quiet cove resting in the embrace of a pair of gently curving seawalls, where a quay of pale stone awaits visitors’ ships.
This is, in fact, the only safe place to moor on her side of the Isle.
